This has to be one of the best re-brands of a beer I’ve ever seen.
Simple, clean, elegant – this 330ml bottle of St Eriks Pilsner is so attractive it was an obvious candidate for beer art.
I don’t yet know if the beer inside is as stunning as the bottle it’s sitting in but I’ll be tasting it on BeerSweden TV in the next day or two to find out and I’ll let you know first right here.
Hats off to all those involved in the redesign of this bottle. You’ve just made beer even more sexy ![]()

I’m sorry to say that the design is so much better than the beer. Tried it at a tasting and it had more of a american beer style than a pilsner. But I vill try again. Of course.
It’s a beautiful bottle, but isn’t the glassware itself the same bottle that Meantime uses? The label is gorgeous, though.
Johan – yes it appears identical to Meantime bottles although the label is pressure sensitive and not paper. Still, a very elegant effect overall, don’t you think?
Reminds me of the Meantime bottles.
I love the design – bought an bottle just a moment ago. Look good in the fridge! Btw – Darren.. Youväe got any clue about the ”Abstract 01″ for 125 SEK (From Brewdog I think) beeing released in April? Is it their raspberry-and-cask-aged imperial stout perhaps? Cheers (and Beers, as you say!)
I’ll check for you Sander. Be right back!
Sander – just heard from BrewDog that Abstract 1 is, and I quote: ”a vanilla bean infused Belgian Quad at 12%”.
I’ve also heard some very exciting news about the rest of the Abstract range. I’ll be breaking the story over the next day so stay tuned!
Time for me to burst out with a ”look at me, look at me!”

Although I never blogged about it I did however try St. Eriks Pilsner last year. Really nothing special then and I am guessing it isn’t today either.
The St Eriks Röd was however alright, shame they didn’t release that instead…
Tested it today and it was kind of too bitter for my unevolved tongue
The bitterness kind of made the other tastes fade too much so I didn’t like it at all..but the bottle is as you say very nice
bästa svenska ölen på bra länge,
The bottle has changed now. The pictured one is indeed the Meantime bottle. The new St Eriks, however, is a specially designed one with embossings showing the St Erik brand name and a portrait of Mr Erik himself. The black cap has changed into a cap showing the saint and a text saying St Eriks – love and hops (in Swedish)
Cheers
Peter (involved in the production of the beer)
