I heard some rumor about Newcastle Brown nowadays actually is a pale ale when they brew it and afterward they add color to get it brownish. Is that true or just a rumor?
Nice episode Darren, i love brown ales and have of recently got sick of all the hops, hops, hops in beer styles like IPA, DIPA, APA, GIPA and gone back to the beer roots, malt. I agree with you when it comes to Jackie Brown, more like a brown ale/IPA cocktail, where is the lovely rich, sweet roasted malt in this beer that a brown ale should have? 3 brown ales that i love and hope you have had the oppertunity to try are, Indian Brown Ale from Dogfish Head, Imperial Brown Ale from Nøgne Ø and Dieu du Ciel Rigor Mortis Abt.
